NILPS is working with Wessex Archaeology to deliver a project that covers many aspects of North Isles maritime history. It will look at prehistoric seafaring, shipwrecks, maritime heritage and how sea links and industries have shaped the character of each island will all be studied and maritime art will be explored in more detail.
There will be opportunities for people to get involved and find out more, add to existing research and learn new skills. These will include surveying, mapping and even expanding creative and artistic abilities.
